In 1842, the Methodist Church was allowing its preachers and members to hold slaves. In the southeast, there was a group of churches that could not agree with the practice of slavery. |
| The problem eventually led to the split of a group of churches that called themselves the Wesleyan Methodist Church. |
Eventually, through a rejected merger with the Pilgrim Holiness Church, a group of churches emerged and called themselves the Bible Methodist Connection of Churches. |
| The Wesleyan Covenant Church was an independent church established in Oklahoma City several years ago. It joined the Bible Methodist Connection in 2000. |
Our church created the following mission statement:
Wesleyan Covenant Bible Methodist Church exists to worship and serve our Lord, to reach members of our community for Jesus, to connect them to other Christians for support, to teach them how to grow in their faith and help them find their personal ministry, and glorify God with their lives.
